What is private treatment?
This is treatment undertaken outside
of the NHS. This is normally reserved for those
specific procedures where your requirements or
expectations cannot be met on the NHS. For example,
white caps and white fillings in back teeth and
other cosmetic work. Also badly damaged teeth
requiring greater time and effort.
Private treatment offers the following
benefits:
- Use of the most modern techniques and materials.
- Better cosmetic results.
- Use of private laboratories only for construction
of crowns, inlays and dentures.
- Two year guarantee on materials and laboratory
items.

Paying for Private Treatment
We are now offering Denplan Enhance - an interest
free loan that allows you to spread the cost of
private treatments provided by your dentist. Ask
at our reception for more deatils.
What is Denplan?
This is a private insurance scheme.
It covers all necessary treatment for a set
monthly fee. It best suits those patients
who routinely wish to have independent treatment.

Can I get free treatment?
Yes. Free NHS treatment is available.
Check the following categories to see if you qualify.
- Income support (or if your partner is on)
- Family credit (or if your partner is on)
or Working Family Tax Credit
- Job seekers allowance (or if your partner
is on)
- Disabled Persons Tax Credit
- DSS Certificate or AG1 or AG2
- Pregnant.or baby born under 12 months ago
- Aged 18 & in full time education
- Under 18
Is there any other help if I don’t
qualify?
Yes. Help may still be available for NHS charges,
particularly if you are a student, pensioner,
working part-time or on a low income.
You will need to complete an HC1 form. You will
find one in the waiting area. On successful application,
any charges you have paid will be reimbursed by
the DSS. Please keep your receipts.
Alternatively, you may wish to complete the form
prior to making an appointment, in which case
only the charges outlined in your DSS certificate
will need to be paid. Please bring your returned
HC1 form with you.
How do I pay for my treatment?
- Your account needs to be in credit for treatment
to proceed.
- A deposit of £35 is required at your
check-up appointment.
- The remainder of your payments will be divided
equally over your subsequent appointments.
- Your payment may be requested before entering
the surgery.
- Hygienist appointments must be paid for in
advance. This is non-refundable in the event
of broken appointments.
- Please note that we keep computerised records
of all payments received.
Payment can be made by any of the
following methods:
- Cash
- Cheque with guarantee card
- Major credit cards e.g. Visa & Mastercard
- Debit cards such as Switch & Delta
- Interest free loans available
Please note, you are not obliged to have any
treatment that you do not wish to undergo.
