Each member of our dental team has a personal area of speciality in addition to their core dental skills which enables us to offer a wider range of options for your dental care.
Dr Andrew Fries  Senior Partner
LDSRCS Eng 1988; BDS Lond 1988; MFGDP 2007

Since qualifying at Guy's Hospital in 1988, Andrew has gained over twenty years of general practice experience. He has a post-graduate qualification in general practice dentistry and is a member of the Faculty of General Dental Practitioners. In addition to his practice duties, Andrew is also an approved Dental Trainer and guides new graduates through their first year of practice. He is also currently studying for a MA in Medical Education.

Andrew is an elected representative for local dentists on the Lambeth, Lewisham and Southwark Local Dental Committee.

Dr Saira Akhtar Associate
BDS Hons (Lond) MFGDP RCS (UK)

Dr Akhtar qualified with distinction honours from Guy's Dental Hospital in 2006 and obtained her postgraduate diploma (MFGDP) in general practice with the Royal College of Surgeons in 2008. She is a full-time practitioner and has a particular interest in cosmetic dentistry. She is certified in the use of invisible braces and facial rejuvenation. Saira is also an approved dental trainer and guides new graduates through their first year of practice.

She is also committed to attending postgraduate education courses and is enrolling in a certificate for dental education.
Dr Hamini Shah Dentist

Dr Hamini Shah graduated from King's College London university in 2011 and joined the Lewisham Dental Practice team in August 2011.

She is currently preparing for her MJDF post graduate qualification.
Dr Emily Tan Dentist
BDS

Dr Emily Tan graduated from King's College London university in 2011 and joined the Lewisham Dental Practice team in August 2011.

She is also currently preparing for her MJDF post graduate qualification.
Sarah Burton  Practice Manager

Sarah is our practice manager and has been a valued team member at LDP since October 2003. Since working at the practice Sarah has completed an NVQ level 2 in Customer Service and in Team Leading, and an NVQ level 3 in Management. Dr Ali Hilmi Associate
BDS U Lond 2008 BSc

Dr Hilmi graduated with Merit from The Guy’s, King’s, and St Thomas’ Dental Institute in 2008. In addition, He has a degree in Neuroscience from King’s College London (University of London), and is currently preparing for the MJDF post-graduate dental qualification. Dr Hilmi has a keen interest in prosthodontics, and is focused on continual professional development through post-graduate education.
Dr Rikesh Patel Associate
BDS Lond, MJDF RCS Eng

Dr Patel graduated with a Distinction from Kings College London - Dental Institute in 2009. Having a keen interest in post-graduate training and development, he has completed his MJDF Diploma from the Royal College of Surgeons. He has also spent one year, full time, at the prestigious Eastman Dental hospital in Restorative dentistry further broadening his skills in general dentistry. He now returns to Lewisham Dental Practice, bringing with him some of these specialist skills.


Cheryl Matthews Registered Dental Hygienist
RDH 2005

Cheryl earned her Diploma in Dental Hygiene at King's College Hospital in 2005 and since working at the practice also achieved an NVQ Level 2 in Customer Service. She is also qualified in tooth whitening procedures.

Sarah Lewis Business Development Manager
Member of the Institute of Customer Service

With over 17 years of experience in management, Sarah is a hands-on problem solver with a passion for excellent customer service. She is especially interested in the development of teams and systems to ensure excellent performance. Sarah is currently studying towards a masters degree in business administration and is using her newly acquired knowledge to help develop the practice.
Amy Billing
Registered Dental Nurse / Receptionist

Amy has been a valued team member since April 2004 and has an NVQ Level 2 in Customer Service. Amy currently works as part of our reception team but also qualified as a dental nurse in May 2006. Amy is always ready to help answer any questions or queries patients may have regarding their dental treatment
Roxanne Quaye
Registered Dental Nurse / Receptionist

Roxanne has been a valued team member since February 2009 and has also achieved an NVQ Level 2 in Customer Service. Roxanne trained as a dental nurse at the International Centre of Excellence in dentistry known as The Eastman Dental Institute and also worked as an implant nurse. Roxanne has also previously worked with the '10 years younger' team and is currently studying towards an oral health qualification.
Lisa Steele
Dental Nurse / Receptionist

Lisa has been working with us as a receptionist since September 2008. Since joining the practice she has developed an interest in dental nursing and qualified as a dental nurse in July 2011. Lisa is currently working towards achieving an NVQ Level 2 in Customer Service.
Winie Henry
Registered Dental Nurse / Receptionist

Winie qualified as a dental nurse in May 2003 and is an experienced dental nurse. Winie previously worked with us through an agency on a temporary basis but joined the team as a permanent member of staff in August 2010. Winie is currently working towards achieving an NVQ Level 2 in Customer Service.
Jhene Begum
Receptionist

Jhene joined our reception team in August 2010 and is always happy to help patients with any questions or queries they may have. Jhene is currently working towards an NVQ Level 2 in Customer Service.
Loubna Hazim
Receptionist

Loubna is part of our reception team and works with us on a part time basis. Loubna joined our team in March 2011.
Funmi Akotipopo
Registered Dental Nurse

Funmi is a qualified dental nurse who worked with us previously through an agency on a temporary basis and joined our team permanently in May 2011.
Agnes Osingor
Registered Dental Nurse

Agnes is qualified dental nurse that also previously worked with us through an agency, Agnes now works with us on a part time basis and joined the practice in July 2011.
